The project
Command Line partnered with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and GCX (Game Creators Expo) to build a Fortnite experience for the St. Jude PLAY LIVE program. PLAY LIVE connects gaming communities with St. Jude's mission through fundraising events, streaming campaigns, and creator activations.
The Fortnite experience gives the program a permanent home inside the game. Instead of only existing during fundraising windows, there's now a persistent world players can visit anytime.

The build
The hub world is designed as a space station that can be expanded with new seasons and content. Players teleport from the hub into competitive or narrative game modes. The structure was built to grow over time without requiring a full rebuild for each update.
The visual tone is warm and age-appropriate. St. Jude's audience spans the full Fortnite player base, including younger players, so the design stays welcoming without being childish.

How it's used
Streamers participating in PLAY LIVE fundraising events use the Fortnite world as a destination during their streams. Players join, compete, and engage with the St. Jude mission through gameplay. The experience works as both a standalone game and a streaming backdrop for creator-led events.
